About me

My name is Ana and I live in the stunning city of Oporto, Portugal. I am what you would call a knowledge worker, currently handling digital marketing and social media strategy, while also advising on  internal collaboration, for a multinational manufacturing company (but please note that this blog represents my views only).

On top of the day job, I always try to make room for side projects in my life because they allow me to build important stuff with some really cool people that I met serendipitously and are always great learning experiences! Organizing conferences that stir change and inspire people to act, teaching at the local business school, doing volunteer work, speaking at events or writing are some of the projects.

I’m passionate about the impact this Social Era – the era of the connected consumer and the empowered employee – is having on our lives, societies and organizations, (re)defining the future of businesses and work! I pay particular attention to the topics of Social Business and Enterprise 2.0.

I believe that we live in extraordinary times, though I’m not sure that we have yet fully grasped the changes coming upon us.

I love to learn and I think I’m lucky to live in an era where I can easily access the thoughts and works of some of the World’s most brilliant minds, all at the distance of a link or tweet (yes, Twitter is my favourite serendipity engine. You can reach me at @AnaDataGirl).

I am no expert so this blog is not about how fabulous I am at mastering these topics!!! This is just a small corner of the blogosphere where I write about my experiences and reflections… and where the art of my work and life come together.
